First Iftar At Radisson Blu-Jeddah

IMG_0305

May 27,2017 is the first day of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia. Hence, it is also the birthday of my brother ,we decided to have the first Iftar at Radisson blu Royal Suite Hotel.

Have you heard about “cobone”? This is an on-line discounted voucher where you can get a buffet for a price of SR99 per adult instead of SR155 and for a child below 12 years old SR49 only. It is a real bargain 🙂

The place is small but elegantly design, the food is worth the value of what you pay for. My friend likes the “mandi” and I like the shrimp tempura!

Not bad after all , we enjoyed the night ,sadly I have to go back to work 😦  yes! working at night till the wee hours of the morning. This is only once a year so we don’t complain and besides , I like the atmosphere during holy month of Ramadan, its kind of relaxing and festive!

Cheers,

My Jeddah food trip with Chef Kevin

I am so happy to savour the taste of Ramadan Iftar with my youngest son, Chef Kevin. He was here for short holiday before he goes to work as trainee at J.W Marquis Marriott Hotel in Dubai, UAE. Imagine how my tummy jumped with glee and my brain twisted for more calories and my heart was pumping with joy, suddenly…sadness comes when I can not zipped in my trouser 🙂 anymore! hahaha anyway, here’s some photos I took via iPhone 4 ! yes! say that again! still in iPhone 4? ! 🙂

1st stop – where else! of course at tito nabil’s house. He is a good lebanese cook! We ate with gusto every time! Hummos fattah, wara enab, yogurt hmmm so yummy!

2nd stop – Cheesecake Factory, it seems every table has its own service staff, the service and the food are both fantastic.

3rd stop – Texas Road house, well again and again, this is my favourite!

4th stop – Mugg and Bean, not so impressive but the conversation was superb!

5th stop – Romero – one of the best! If you love Mediterranean cuisine and a romantic place, this fine restaurant is highly recommended. From the starter to the main dish, we enjoyed it all!

6th stop – al ashami – Shawerma overload 😉

7th stop – of course, I also prepared some dish for my youngest chef!

8th stop – Pizza huh! a disaster, service is not good and the food is not even half italian in taste 😦

at the end before his flight to Dubai, we went to marble slab creamery, had a fresh mixed ice cream and a little show of catching the scooped ice cream, enjoy!

Cheers,

Ramadan: Iftar Buffet at Red Sea Grill resto

Ramadan is almost over and I haven’t invited my staff yet to an Iftar (sunset meal), so yesterday we went to Red Sea Grill (seafood restaurant) at thalia st.

We came early to find a good place unfortunately all tables are too small for a party of six, anyhow this is the nearest place to our clinic so we decided to stay.

Taking my camera out..getting ready to take the pictures of the food available on buffet table, took few shots when the supervisor told me, I can’t take anymore, Alright I forgot this is Jeddah! Everyone has camera but you have no freedom to take pictures anytime specially in public.

Oh well, let’s just review the event:

Ambience: fair enough, clean but small. the outside decor is refreshing than the inside

Cost: SR 90 per person

Food and beverages: All drinks (soda, juice, tea and coffee) included. The foods are alright but it didn’t conform to its name GRILL SEAFOOD. Surprisingly all menu were sautee or fried.

Salad and sweets : reasonable but not of my standard. I don’t find it satisfying by eyes or my taste.

Staff: neat and friendly

My rate?? hmmm not impressed, I don’t like fatty foods, I prefer Grilled (main reason why I came) but I didn’t find any.
